G-Startup Worldwide is excited to announce that we have partnered with GDP Venture, Kejora Ventures, FbStart and Sequoia Capital to find high potential startups at GMIC Jakarta and to invest at least $150,000 into the first place winner ($50,000 from our GWC Innovator Fund, $50,000 from GDP Venture, and $50,000 from Kejora Ventures)!
15 startups will be chosen to pitch on stage to investors and hundreds of tech leaders in the audience at GMIC Jakarta on September 26, 2017. The first place winner will receive a $150,000 investment and a free trip to Silicon Valley to compete in the G-Startup Worldwide Global Finals for an additional $250,000 investment.
“GDP Venture is proud to announce that we will be investing $50,000 USD in the first place winner of G-Startup Jakarta. We have enjoyed working with GWC since 2012 and have seen so many awesome startups from G-Startup. This year, we wanted to play an active part in the competition. As a venture builder, we want to help drive the success of the startup community in Indonesia so a partnership with G-Startup was very natural,” says Danny Oei Wirianto of GDP Venture.
“It has been a pleasure partnering with GMIC since it was first held in Indonesia in 2015, and last year we partnered with G-Startup to bring the competition to Jakarta. Having seen G-Startup’s ability to attract the best founders around the world and the top tier investors, we knew that we had to leverage this platform to enable rising startups in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Kejora is excited to co-invest $50,000 in the first place winner.” Andy Zain, Kejora Partner.
All 15 chosen startups will also be accepted into Facebook’s FbStart program, which provides benefits like ad credits, partner services and mentorship from Facebook’s product managers and engineers for startups that have an app or messenger bot. FbStart will also provide $5,000 in ad credits to the G-Startup Jakarta winner.
